Researchers from the following fields work together in the research group: Greek Studies/Religious Studies, Latin Studies, Theology (New Testament), English Literature, Medieval Latin Philology and History of Mythology, History of Natural Sciences and Philosophy of Science, Political Science and Modern German Literature.

The eight sub-projects cooperate with each other in different constellations: there are thematic and conceptual key terms that connect some of the sub-projects with each other: for example, creation (SP3, SP5, SP9), ideologies (SP1, SP6, SP8), questions of aesthetic representation (SP1, SP4, SP5, SP9) or scientific explanatory models (SP6 and SP7).
